I’m a massive fan of wagamamas and it is exciting to see their new vegan menu launches. The brand launched new options for Veganuary 2021, with all of the additions here to stay. What’s more impressive is that half of their menu is now plant-based. And utterly delicious I might add! I’m so pleased to share my review of the wagamama vegan menu.
It is the UK’s first high street restaurant to give plant-based dishes equal share on their menu.
I’ve tried a lot of their vegan dishes, and I’ve rounded up my favourite below. I’ve enjoyed them in their restaurant (at Brindley Place in Birmingham) and at home through Deliveroo. Both are equally excellent I have to say!
f you’re planning to order to your door, I can definitely recommend it. In my experience, everything is piping hot, packaged really well (in reusable or recyclable containers) and right on time. I love it when companies are reliable.

Spicy Teriyaki Vegan ‘Chicken’ Steamed Buns
These are so soft and melt in the mouth. The teriyaki filling is delicious and full of flavour, while the slaw and shallots give a real edge to the taste.
Spicy Vegan ‘Short Rib’ Ramen
I love this dish, although be warned it really packs a punch! The vegetable broth is light and warming, and the chilli really lifts the dish. The soya protein ‘ribs’ are heavenly and hearty.
Vegan sticky ribs
This is the standalone side option of the ribs in the ramen dish. Made from mushroom and soya protein, they have a beautifully firm texture with a sweet and tangy sauce. Dare I say it, but I prefer them to meat ribs.
I’m a sucker for side dishes, so the yasai gyoza was right up my street. The dumpling is perfection and the filling is crisp and juicy.
The tofu raisukaree is a big hit. The coconut flavour works perfectly with the crunchy vegetables and I really like the tofu itself. It had a nice springy texture and absorbs the flavour of the sauce.
The vegatsu is divine. I will definitely opt for this over a classic katsu curry in the future. My daughter loves the rice too (just not the rest of it, but it’s a good start).
You can check out the new vegan menu on the wagamamas site. If you’re looking for vegan food that doesn’t compromise on taste, quality or choice, wagamamas is the perfect solution. Thank you wagamama for making veganism ever more tasty.
