Ethical eating with Oggs
As part of my drive towards more sustainable food and drink, I’ve been excitedly exploring more plant-based options. Luckily, plant-based and vegan food options are becoming increasingly available, and loads of them are delicious!
My latest foodie find is Oggs, which I’m sure lots of folks have already discovered. Oggs are a range of cruelty-free cakes that use plant-based alternatives in their recipes. The company’s ethos is about positively changing the future of the planet, animals and people.
I was kindly sent some of their newest additions to the range, chocolate fudge cupcakes. They certainly didn’t last long in our house! The cakes are really moist, the chocolate fudge icing is rich but not sickly, and overall totally yummy. There was a really good balance between cake and icing as well, as much as I enjoy the icing I can sometimes find too much overpowers the cake itself.
As well as the deliciousness of the cakes, I love the values of the company. They measure their successes in more ethical targets, such as number of reductions in energy use, recycling targets and animal welfare. So essentially they are just all-round good folks, who are making a compassionate difference to the world we live in.
You can find Oggs in a range of supermarkets. Next time you are cake shopping, I would highly recommend you try Oggs an alternative to your usual brand. Even if, like me, you’re not a vegan, simple switches such as this can make a big difference.
I was sent some products free of charge for the purposes of this review. As always, the provision of complimentary products does not influence my views which remain honest and my own.
