Easy ways to refresh your kitchen style with Typhoon

My kitchen is pretty old. But getting a new kitchen is no easy feat! Trying to find builders, choose a style, decide on a colour pattern…it really is not so simple. In the meantime, I’ve been looking at easy ways to refresh your kitchen style. Thankfully, something that is much easier than getting a new kitchen is picking some lovely stylised items from trusted brand Typhoon.

Here are my thoughts on easy ways to refresh your kitchen style.

Add a splash of colour or interest to your worktops

Worktops can show their age after a while. They just don’t have the same sparkle anymore after years of use. Worktop savers are great for adding some interest and lift to tired worktops. I love the Marble Effect work surface protector from the Typhoon Elements range.

It is an elegant addition to any kitchen, and its neutral tones work with all colours and patterns. It’s very practical too, with scratch resistant, easy to clean glass. And it is heat resistant to 180C.

Declutter your utensils

Surely all kitchens have more wooden spoons, whisks, mashers, and other utensils than they need? Have a purge and get rid of any that you never use. Then find a space in a drawer or cupboard for the ones you rarely use but want to keep.

This should leave only the frequently used utensils out. Pop them into a chic and stylish utensil holder, such as the Living Grey Utensil Pot from Typhoon. Durable and lightweight, this utensils jar will help keep your worktop organised neatly. It’s a good size too, so you should fit all of your everyday utensils (not those ones stashed in a cupboard!) in one place.

I love the grey too, as it really works with any colours and decor.

Grow some herbs

Growing your own herbs is not only excellent for cooking, it is a great way to liven up your kitchen. Fresh herbs add a pop of colour and an uplifting scent. If you keep them in small pots, you remove the risk of overcluttering your sides or windowsills.

The Typhoon Living herb planters are a perfect size and suit either ready grown herbs or starting from seed. They match the utensil pot for extra bonus points too! If you’re looking for advice on how to grow herbs on your kitchen windowsill, this post has lots of great tips.

You can buy all of these items and much more on the Typhoon website. Delivery is free when you spend over £35.
