Easy slow cooker pulled pork recipe

You will need:

  • 160g ketchup
  • 60 ml cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp runny honey
  • Pork shoulder joint (approx 1.5kg)
  • White or brioche rolls
  • Coleslaw and/or onion rings to serve

What to do:

  1. Put the pulled pork into the slow cooker. You may want to use a slow cooker liner to make cleaning easier.
  2. Add the ketchup, vinegar, paprika, Worcestershire sauce and honey into the cooker. Grind in a few twists of the pepper.
  3. Turn the slow cooker onto high and leave for 6-8 hours. If your slow cooker has an auto function, you might prefer to use this.
  4. Half an hour before you want to eat, cook your onion rings if you will be having them.
  5. Take the pork out and place on a large chopping board. Remove the fat which should easily cut away from the joint.
  6. Using two forks, pull the meat apart. Add a few spoonfuls of the juices from the slow cooker into the pulled meat.
  7. Load into the buns and top with coleslaw or onions rings.
