Residential dumpster rental is actually what it sounds like.  It’s the act of renting out an extra dumpster for a certain amount of allotted time.  Some companies may even have different dumpster sizes.  By now, you may be thinking ‘why in the world would I need to rent a dumpster’.

It may sound weird, but residential dumpster rental is a lucrative business.  There are lots of reasons why people may need to rent out extra dumpsters, such as:

How to Rent a Residential Dumpster

The process is actually very simple.

  1. The first step is to contact your local waste management company.  Be sure to include your desired dumpster size.  If you are not sure about the size you will need, describe your project to the company and they will work with you to find the right size that is suitable to your needs.
  2. The company will deliver your rental dumpster to the given location at the agreed upon time.
  3. Use it as you need, empty it, call the company, and they will come pick it up.

Dumpster Sizes

Depending on the company, many different dumpster sizes are available.  These are just a few:

  • 3 Yard Dumpster: These are great for household cleanup or light renovations. It can handle materials like light household or office trash, wood, or drywall.
  • 6 Yard Dumpster: This type of dumpster is actually known as the :”lowboy” and is ideal for removing solid and heavy material waste, landscaping, construction debris, and demolition. These types of dumpsters are only rented out for dry concrete, ceramic tile, bricks, dirt, asphalt, stucco, plaster or other construction debris.
  • 10 Yard Dumpster: 10 yard dumpsters are great for household or garage cleanups and light renovations. It can handle things like light household trash, wood, and drywall.

There are more available in larger sizes, these are meant for lighter projects.

All of this information and sizes may seem overwhelming, but it is very to know in order to tackle your project.  Additionally, residential dumpster rental can get expensive.  Be careful to stay in your price range.
