As an advocate for ethical beauty and skincare, I’m always on the hunt for new brands that share these values. I also love discovering products that contain no chemicals. I feel it is important to reduce use of these wherever I can. As part of this, I’ve been trying out the Doctor A Cosmetics range recently, as they offer everything I am looking for.
About Doctor A Cosmetics
Doctor A Cosmetics is a British cosmetics brand, committed to providing skincare solutions. They use only high-quality, 100% naturally-derived and ethically-sourced ingredients, including fruit extracts, plant extracts and vitamins. The products are all cruelty free, vegan and eco-friendly.
As well as the ethical approach to their ingredients, Doctor A Cosmetics also uses sustainable, eco-friendly packaging. So, this is great news for those who care about the environment.
As an added bonus, the packaging is truly beautiful.
Another really important part of their ethos is that their skincare caters to all skin types, tones and colours. Their founder, Doctor Anika Walia recognised this was lacking in the British beauty industry and set out to address this through her range.
The 24K Gold Royalty Treatment is a completely alcohol-free facial oil. It contains six oils including argan face oil and coconut face oil. It also contains real 24K carat gold leaf which you can see in the bottle. Its aim is to leave your skin looking healthy, younger and with an overall improvement in your complexion.
The Vitamin C Brightening Moisturiser is a completely fragrance free facial brightening cream. It is full of antioxidants and vitamins, including the multi-beneficial Vitamin C. As well as brightening the skin, it evens out the skin tone.
Completing the range is the Exotic Night Repair Moisturiser. This will nourish and soothe dry and dehydrated skin. It contains hyaluronic acid, squalane, mango butter, grapeseed face oil, red raspberry face oil. Used overnight, it will help to heal and restore your skin.
I’ve tried all three of the Doctor A Cosmetics products and they all offer their individual benefits. The night cream is so soothing and comforting. The brightening moisturiser has a lighter, gentler texture for the day. It gives a fabulous glow to your skin, which is always a welcome boost.
The facial oil is super-rich and luxurious. It is designed not to feel sticky on the skin, which in my experience is true. That is very welcome for me as it is something that I really don’t like with some facial oils. I love the gold flakes, it looks so decadent.
The moisturisers are £28 each and the facial oil is £19.99. While it’s more expensive than some mainstream brands, the quality of the products and the carefully-curated ingredients are worth the higher cost. I would really recommend them for anyone who wants luxury skincare that is ethical, sustainable and good for society.
These will definitely be going on my regular purchase this from now on.
I was sent a selection of items for the purposes of this review. As always the provision of free products or services does not influence my views, which remain my own and honest.
