Celebrating International Friendship Day with Boutique of Diamonds

As we get older, it is inevitable that we find ourselves busier and with less free time. Whether we are working or running a home, parenting, and sometimes just getting through the day, it can be hard to make time for our friends. But we all know how important friendships are, and we also know it’s important to make an effort to keep them blossoming.

As International Friendship Day approaches, here are some ideas for showing your special friends how much they mean to you.

Tell them you are thinking of them

It can be hard to find time to meet up with friends, so make sure you keep in touch with messages or calls in between. Let me know you are thinking of them, and while you don’t have as much time together as you used to, you will always be there for them. Little gestures like this may seem simple, but they mean a lot. Even if it’s just a quick text to say hello. If you are waiting for them to message you, the distance between contact can grow and grow.

Have a child-free day or night out

Once you have children, it is easy to get caught in the trap of spending time together with your mini-me in tow. While this is always lovely, it makes it hard to have a proper catch-up or a real conversation. Plan some one on one time together, where you can just chat and relax without the pressure of parenting for a few hours.

Send a “just-because” gift

While it is lovely to buy birthday and Christmas gifts, sometimes it is nice to send something as a surprise. Maybe you stumbled upon something that just screamed their name or maybe you want to get them a little something with International Friendship Day right around the corner. For something really special, these string diamond bracelets from Boutique of Diamonds are absolutely gorgeous. You could get matching ones like a modern day friendship bracelet. Luckily, I’m giving you the chance to win one, just enter at the end of this post!

Support their projects

If your friend runs a business or a side-hustle, make sure you support them in any way you can. That doesn’t necessarily have to mean buying from them if it’s not something you would use, but you could share their business with people who might be interested. You could also give them a social media shout-out and tag their business profiles. This goes a long way to helping your friend grow their business.

Listen to them

Make time to just sit and listen to your friends, and find out what is going on in their lives. If they need a vent or a rant, give them the space to have it. Or if they want to share their achievements and accomplishments, champion and encourage this. Often, we feel worried that we shouldn’t talk about ourselves, but we should be able to do this with our closest friends. Ask questions so they know you are interested and want to hear about whatever it is they need to get off their chest.
