A review of Lofty Box
Food waste is a huge problem. Did you know that in the UK alone, we throw away 9.5 million tonnes of food every year? And its not just what we throw away at home – it is also the result of retailers struggling to sell surplus, short or past dated stock.
While it may be hard to shift these products, it is completely legal to sell them and they are safe to eat. Thankfully, there are ways in which you can help to reduce the issue of food waste.
Lofty Box is a shining light in this area. I recently tested out a box so I can share my full experience and a review of Lofty Box with you. Here goes!
About Lofty Box
Lofty Box offer a range of food, drinks, wellness and beauty products from both large and small sustainable brands. It is primarily a subscription-based service, where you sign up and receive a monthly box of goodies.
Subscribers will rescue otherwise discarded products each month and get to try lots of new and emerging brands and items. You can choose from a general box which is a blend of food and other items, or for those who just want edible goodies then a snack box can be selected.
Lofty Box does offer an option to buy a one-off box. While it is a more expensive way to buy the box, it’s great if you want to dip sample before committing to a monthly fee.
What products will be in your Lofty Box?
The fun is, you never know! I will share mine as an example, but each month is different. I have to say, it is lovely to have a surprise. Life can be a bit prescriptive sometimes so it is good to mix it up!
In my recent Lofty Box was:
- Grounded Chocolate Plant Based Protein M*lk Shake
- Little Danube Soap
- Raw Press Organic Kale Chips
- Hermosa Protein Powder
- Bear Beauty Botanicals Bear Buff Konjac Sponge
- Honest Bean Co Roasted Fava Bean Snack
It was a really good mix of items, and a lovely way to try out new food and beauty treats.
The Grounded Shake is particularly delicious. It is thick and full of chocolate flavour. My other favourite from the box is the the Bear Buff Konjac Sponge. Not only is it unbelievably cute, it is a great addition to my skincare routine. I’ve already ordered more!
Hopefully my review of Lofty Box has inspired you to sign up. If you’re committed to reducing food waste and supporting sustainable businesses, and you enjoy monthly treats, Lofty Box is the perfect way to achieve this.
I was sent a selection of items for the purposes of this review. As always the provision of free products or services does not influence my views, which remain my own and honest.
